Callfield Companion Animal Clinic is proud to be an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).  Our accreditation demonstrates our commitment to the highest standards of veterinary care.  AAHA regularly evaluates our hospital to ensure that we meet or exceed the association’s standards for patient care, hospital services and equipment. AAHA standards are recognized around the world as the benchmark for quality care in veterinary medicine.

Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:  Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.  
      
Surgical Services:  Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.  We are also equipped with a laser which is used in many of our surgeries.  This is optional to you. 
   
Anesthesia:  We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.
    
Internal medicine consults: We offer in-hospital referrals to an internal medicine specialist who performs ultrasounds, endoscopic procedures and helps us with the diagnosis of more complicated cases.
   
Radiology Services:  Our on-site, digital X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.
   
Electrocardiography Services:  We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists.
   
Dentistry:  Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.
   
Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

Avian and Exotic Medicine: We provide a wide spectrum of compassionate veterinary care for birds and exotic pets. In addition to medical and surgical care, we can advise you on the unique health, nutritional and environmental requirements for these pets.  Pets we see include birds, reptiles and small mammals, such as rats, rabbits and ferrets.

    
Permanent identification: We only offer Home Again Microchip identification at this time.  This is recognized world wide.
    
Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.

On Line Pharmacy: We offer a new and convenient way for our clients to shop! We have an online pharmacy that we work with that allows you to buy your pet their perscriptions at home. The company will then send the medicine to your front door. 
   
Dietary Counseling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.
    
Behavioral Counseling:  We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.

Boarding:  We provide pet boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Pets may be dropped off and picked up between 9:30 and 4:30 Monday through Friday.  See menu at left for more details on our borading facility and hours.

Bathing:  Routine and therapeutic bathing services are available. We do not have any specialty grooming at this time.  Please see the boarding menu at left for more information and price lists.

Emergency Care:  There is always a doctor on call in the event of an emergency.  Please call our main telephone number, (940-692-7000), for instructions for after-hour emergencies.
